The big match!

It’s Poland V Scotland tonight, and the tension is building over the match. For us if we win, we qualify for the European Championships in France next year. However it is more complicated for Scotland, a must win game for the scots otherwise they are out of contention. These are the standings going into tonight’s match.

The stakes are high, and Robert Lewandowski and co will not be underestimating their opposition going into tonight’s match at Hampden Park. When they met in October it ended in a 2-2 draw. The Poles will be hoping for better in Scotland tonight. My prediction: 2-1 Poland

Rafa and Novak dominate in China

Rafael Nadal began his campaign in Beijing with a 6-4 6-4 win over wildcard Di Wu. The Spaniard got broken 4 times during the match, but survived to progress to round 2, where he will play Vasek Pospisil of Canada. Pospisil beat Estrella Burgos in 3 sets, Bagelling the Dominican Republican in the last set. Rafael Nadal is looking to qualify for the world tour finals in London. Also World number 1 Novak Djokovic, prove indestructible in his match against Simone Bolelli, dropping two games in the process. He will play Australian Qualifier John Millman in the next round, who beat Tommy Robredo in three sets. Robredo who looked to be in good form after his semi-final in Shenzhen last week, suffered a shock defeat to the Australian. Their were also wins for John Isner and David Ferrer over Dominic Thiem and Thomaz Bellucci respectively. The big serving American, who has had an average season, beat the Austrian, who has looked fatigued in recent weeks. David Ferrer also in good form after winning in Kuala Lumpur last week, beat Bellucci in straight sets to advance, and get closer to booking his place in London
Also in today’s matches in Tokyo, their were wins for Stan Wawrinka, Nick Kyrgios and Gilles Simon. However their were shock defeats for Kevin Anderson, Grigor Dimitrov and Richard Gasquet. Dimitrov lost to Paire in three sets, the Bulgarian looking out of sorts this year and it continued today, with Benoit Paire looking the mentally stronger, surprisingly. While Anderson and Gasquet lost convincingly to Gilles Muller and Roberto Bautista Agut. Anderson and Gasquet showing fatigue, after good grand slam runs this year.
Tomorrow sees Kei Nishikori return for his second round match in his home country against Sam Querrey, While Stan Wawrinka faces Tatsuma Ito, While Marin Cilic returns after his disappointing semi-final defeat last week in Shenzhen, he will play Donald Young. Meanwhile in China Nadal returns to play Pospisil, Ferrer will play Rosol and last week’s Shenzhen winner Tomas Berdych will play Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas.
